SMU's Offices at Goldbell Towers
- SMU President Janice Bellace and Chairman Ho Kwon Ping at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of Singapore Management University's new offices at Goldbell Towers on Scotts Road. Mr Ho Kwon Ping also announced the seventeen winning ideas from the city campus ideas competition. SMU Postgraduate Career & Networking Fair connects experienced students with leading employers in October 2025
- Held twice a year, the SMU Postgraduate Career & Networking Fair is curated for postgraduate students and recent graduates with more than two years of work experience. The event brings together experienced talent and industry employers across sectors such as finance, consulting, tech, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and media, offering opportunities to explore well-matched roles, ask meaningful questions, and connect directly with industry professionals. The Oct 2025 edition brought together over 250 experienced students and 40 leading employers across these sectors.
Young scholars from the 2026 Dato' Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme explore education opportunities in Accountancy in SMU
- As part of the learning journey component of the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Young Scholars Programme 2026, participants attended a session led by Professor Yuanto Kusnadi, who introduced the distinctive features and educational approach of the SMU School of Accountancy. Through his presentation, participants gained valuable insights into the school’s innovative pedagogy, industry-relevant curriculum, and strong emphasis on experiential learning. The session also highlighted the school’s extensive industry partnerships, global opportunities, and commitment to nurturing future-ready graduates equipped with both technical expertise and leadership skills. By learning about the diverse academic pathways and career prospects available in the accounting profession, participants were able to develop a deeper appreciation of the discipline and better understand how an education at Singapore Management University can support their personal, academic, and professional aspirations. The programme was held from 14 January to 25 January 2026.

At the launch of her new book, Professor Kong invited leaders, policymakers, and educators to reimagine the role of higher education in a changing world. The book is drawn from her IPS–SR Nathan Lectures delivered between October and November 2024. Across these lectures, she traced how the idea of “the university” has evolved in response to shifting societal contexts, examined what it must represent today as humanity grapples with the prospect of 100-year lifespans, and reflected on the responsibilities universities bear beyond the confines of academia. The publication also brings together highlights from Professor Kong’s dialogues with audiences following each lecture, expanding the conversation on how universities can shape enduring legacy and meaningful impact in the years ahead.
Preserving Trees at City Campus
- Mature trees were removed from Singapore Management University’s city campus construction site and then replanted on campus after the construction was completed. Among them was a 70-year-old rain tree weighing more than 37 tonnes. The tree was 21-metres in height with a crown 25 metres in diameter. Picture taken at Bras Basah Park on 20 May 2003.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Global Summer Programme
- The Centre for Global Education and Opportunities (GEO) celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Global Summer Programme on 23 June 2025, with a cake cutting ceremony at the Mochtar Riady Auditorium. The Global Summer Programme was started in 2015. It was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resumed in 2021.

SMU-X at 10: A decade of learning that turns ideas into action

Through reflections spanning across disciplines, industries, and geographies, the book offers insights into how real‑world, project‑based learning has transformed classroom education at SMU.
