SMU extends leadership and innovation training for local small and medium businesses with new $2.5 million gift from UOB
- On behalf of Singapore Management University, President Professor Lily Kong (Left) receives a gift of SGD $2.5million from UOB Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Wee Ee Cheong (Right), which further endorse UOB's support of the UOB-SMU Asian Enterprise Institure (UOB-SMU AEI). The gift enables UOB-SMU AEI to continue championing the exchange of knowledge and resources to support the growth and development of local enterprises and SMU students through its current and new programmes. With this new funding support, the Institute will be establishing a new SME Leadership Programme, through which the Institute hopes to train 50 SME leaders annually in the areas of digital transformation, regional expansion and succession planning.

Wharton-SMU Research Centre Agreement

Wharton-SMU Research Centre Agreement
- Deputy Prime Minister Tony Tan speaking at the signing ceremony to establish the Wharton-Singapore Management University Research Centre. This joint research centre will focus on international business issues relevant to Singapore and Asia, and help establish a research culture at SMU. The deputy dean of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, Janice Bellace, is named as the centre director and SMU president-designate. DPM Tony Tan also announced that SMU will award its own degrees beginning with its first graduates. The signing ceremony was held on 10 June 1999 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Asia Leaders Connect is an annual leadership platform organised by Temasek Foundation since 2013 to foster deep and sustained connections with leaders across the region. The forum convenes leaders across Asia from diverse sectors to network, exchange perspectives and discuss key challenges in governance and leadership, advancing “Partnerships for Impact” across the region.

- A photobooth at the 2025 SMU Careers Day is available for students to capture both light-hearted group candids and professional individual headshots, including photos suitable for LinkedIn profiles. The service is operated by an external vendor engaged by the Dato’ Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC).
SMU Postgraduate Career & Networking Fair connects experienced students with leading employers in October 2025
- Held twice a year, the SMU Postgraduate Career & Networking Fair is curated for postgraduate students and recent graduates with more than two years of work experience. The event brings together experienced talent and industry employers across sectors such as finance, consulting, tech, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and media, offering opportunities to explore well-matched roles, ask meaningful questions, and connect directly with industry professionals. The Oct 2025 edition brought together over 250 experienced students and 40 leading employers across these sectors.
Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Global Summer Programme
- The Centre for Global Education and Opportunities (GEO) celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Global Summer Programme on 23 June 2025, with a cake cutting ceremony at the Mochtar Riady Auditorium. The Global Summer Programme was started in 2015. It was suspended in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic and resumed in 2021.
