                                      Cross-Cultural Studies
                                      On the occasion of his 90th birthday, Mr Choor Singh, a retired judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore, made a donation to launch Singapore Management University's Centre for Cross-Cultural Studies (now known as the Wee Kim Wee Centre). The centre is to be a platform for research, discussion and teaching across political, geographical and cultural boundaries.                                         Singapore Management University (SMU) announced the embarkment of a two-year development project that will not only add new and much-needed additional learning, teaching and group study spaces to its current campus in the city, but also transform the landscape of the Civic District by injecting energy, zing and activities to the SMU Campus Green, with a vision to bring back the buzz and revive the ‘Bras Basah spirit’. The project will enhance the opportunities for SMU to engage with the community, and showcase the talent and vibrancy of the SMU campus and Singapore’s youth.


                                          The first IdeaX Innovation and Problem-Solving Workshop in 2021
                                          Mr. Derek Chiang, Senior Development Partner of SMU-X, is featured as one of the instructors for the first workshop that utilized the IdeaX Toolkit in 2021. The workshop aims to equip students with the skills needed to support their SMU-X project journey, from ideation to execution.

SMU-X hosted its inaugural IdeaX workshop – an innovation and problem-solving session for students on how to better approach their SMU-X projects in February 2021. The IdeaX toolkit is designed to guide students in their project challenges, where the deck of cards are used to facilitate conversations, ideate solutions and evaluate ideas. IdeaX can also be used beyond the classroom by organisations seeking opportunities to make meaningful impact.


                                              Outstanding Intern of the Year award recipients of 2017

Established in 2013, the award is funded by an endowed contribution from Ms. Ruth Chiang, the pioneer director of the Office of Career Services at SMU. Managed by the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC), the award scheme aims to encourage excellence in internship performance, uphold good and ethical values and practices in the workplace, and recognize students' achievements in their internships.

                                                Dr Navin Rajagobal, Senior Director of Academic Services and Operations, attended the 2023 Career Day to unveil the new website and career resources of the Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC). Career Day, an annual event hosted by DKHMCC, offered students and recent graduates the opportunity to connect with potential employers and explore various career paths. Additionally, attendees could access career coaching, personalized consultations, and other services provided by the Centre.
